Three days on the road
and nearly 1,000 miles of travel,
I arrive in Douglasville, Georgia.
Hotel check-in, short rest,
then a Cajun dinner at Gumbo’s, the town’s culinary landmark.
Good talk and laughter
so far away from home.
It’s a family get-together,
occasional, happy, loving,
cherished.
